Christopher joined Compact after working in the advisory department for Ernst & Young. Christopher completed his Bachelor Degrees in Law (1st class honours) and Business at Victoria University in June 2007. He has also completed the Diploma in Financial Services (Financial Planning) and is currently a candidate in the CFA Institute qualification.
Christopher is involved in providing legal services primarily to corporations, including Australian Financial Services licensees (AFSL) and AFSL applicants.
Christopher’s experience includes:
• Reviewing and recommending improvements to the operational compliance procedures of listed and unlisted managed investment schemes.
• Conducting audits of managed investment schemes and AFS Licensees.
• Assessing the operational procedures of a large fund services administrator, including unit pricing, fund accounting, investment administration and unit registry.
• Benchmarking organisational policies and procedures, related to super switching, gearing, privacy, breach reporting and training, against regulatory requirements.
• Assessing the adequacy of financial advice in hundreds of statements of advice (SOA) and reviewing adherence to compliance requirements.
Christopher has also formerly worked at a number of law firms in practice areas such as banking and finance, commercial and conveyancing.
Outside of work, Christopher has keen interests in basketball, which he plays at least twice a week, snowboarding and travelling.
